IT'S  CAUGHT  ON  IN  A  BIG  WAY,  SO  ABC  NEWS  REPORTED  TONIGHT.


WHAT  IS  IT?


IT  IS  THE  PART  OF  EXERCISING  THAT  IS  OFTEN  CALLED  INTENSE  EXERCISING.


IT'S  PRETTY  WELL  WHAT  THE  WORD  TELLS  YOU....  INTENSE !!


IT  HAS  BEEN SHOWN  THAT  LACK-A-DASICAL  -  SLOW,  NOT  MUCH  EFFORT  EXERCISING,  DOESN'T  DO  A  WHOLE  LOT  FOR  YOU.


DR.  MERCOLA  HAS  PUT  IT  THIS  WAY,  "YOU  DO  30  SECONDS  OF  FAST  INTENSE  EXERCISE,  THEN  REST,  THEN  DO  IT  AGAIN;  AND  REPEAT."


BUT  THE  PROBLEM  WITH  US  HUMAN  BEINGS  IS  MANY  OF  US,  FAR  TOO  MANY  OF  US,  DO  NOT  KNOW  HOW  TO  BE  BALANCED  IN  ALL  THINGS.  THE  BIBLE  CALLS  IT  "MODERATION  IN  ALL  THINGS."


IT'S  LIKE..... WELL  VITAMIN  "A"  IS  GOOD  FOR  YOU,  SO  MANY  GO  OUT  AND  GET  FAR  TOO  MUCH  OF  IT,  AND  THEN  VITAMIN  "A"  BECOMES  YOUR  ENEMY,  AND  CAN  DO  YOU  HARM.


SO  NOW  MANY  HAVE  GONE  OUT  WITH  THIS  "INTENSE  EXERCISE"  TEACHING,  AND  ....  WELL,  THEY  THINK,  THE  MORE  INTENSE,  THE  MORE  I  DO  IT,  THE  BETTER  PHYSICAL  SHAPE  I'LL  BE  IN.


WAM,  BANG.....  NOPE  DOESN'T  WORK  THAT  WAY.  THE  ABC  NEWS  DOCTOR  AND  TV  REPORTERS,  INTERVIEWED  A  YOUNG  MAN,  LOOKED  LIKE  ABOUT  AGE  30.  HE'D  REALLY  GONE  FOR  IT  AS  THEY  SAY;  LOTS  OF  INTENSE  EXERCISING,  DOWN  AT  THE  GYM,  LIFTING  WEIGHTS,  DOING  WHATEVER  IN  INTENSE  EXERCISING.  THE  ABC  DOCTOR  HAD  A  NAME  FOR  IT;  YES  A  CLINICAL  NAME  OF  A  BODY  DISEASE  THAT  CAN  RESULT  FROM  OVERDOING  INTENSE  EXERCISE  TRAINING.  BAD  CHEMICALS  ARE  THROWN  INTO  YOUR  BODY,  BLOOD  STREAM,  AND  SOME  INTERNAL  ORGANS  CAN  .... CAPUT....  BE  SEVERELY HARMED!

I'LL  MENTION  GOOD  OLD  CHARLES  ATLAS  AGAIN  [LOOK  HIM  UP  ON  THE  INTERNET]  -  HIS  HEALTH  AND  STRENGTH  COURSE,  USED  NO  WEIGHTS,  NO  GADGETS  -  HE  CALLED  IT  "DYNAMIC  TENSION"  -  PUSHING  ONE  MUSCLE  AGAINST  ANOTHER.  YOU  CAN  DO  HIS  DYNAMIC  TENSION  EXERCISES  MORNING  AND  EVENING  WITHOUT  HARMING  YOURSELF.  IT  IS  A  FORM  OF  INTENSE  EXERCISE,  BUT  WAY  MORE  NATURAL  THAN  THE  INTENSE  EXERCISING  SOME  ARE  NOW  INTO  AT  GYMS,  WHERE  WEIGHTS  AND  GADGETS  ARE  USED.

FROM  A  TEEN,  TAKING  AND  DOING  THE  CHARLES  ATLAS  COURSE,  SOME  OF  THE  NATURAL  EXERCISES  ALL  MY  LIFE.  YES,  I  HAVE  SOME  "DUMB-BELLS"  AND  USE  THEM  FOR  ABOUT  10  TO  15  MINUTES  THREE  TIMES  A  WEEK.  I  SWIM  TWICE  A  WEEK [FAST  AS  I  CAN  LENGTH  -  REST  30  SECONDS,  AND  REPEAT;  DO  IT  ABOUT  6  TIMES].  THEN  BETWEEN  FAST  LENGTH  SWIM,  REST,  THEN  DO  A  FEW  CHARLES  ATLAS  DYNAMIC  TENSION  STRETCHING.  THIS  SWIM  LESSON  IS  FOR  45  MINUTES,  TWICE  A  WEEK.  I  RIDE  MY  HORSE  3  TIMES  A  WEEK [YOU MAY  RIDE  YOUR  BIKE  OR  DO  A  GOOD  FAST  WALK].  I  DO  THE  SIT-UP  BELLY  EXERCISES  3  OR  4  TIMES  A  WEEK,  ABOUT  50  AT  A  TIME.


NOW  THAT  IS  BALANCE!  ALL  THAT  KEEPS  ME  IN  VERY  GOOD  PHYSICAL  SHAPE,  THE  PHYSICAL  SHAPE  OF  SOMEONE  IN  SHAPE  20  YEARS  YOUNGER  THAN  ME.  AND  HAS  NO  BAD  SIDE  EFFECTS.


IT  SEEMS  FOR  US  HUMANS  IT  IS  HARD  TO  KEEP  THAT  PENDULUM  IN  THE  MIDDLE,  SO  OFTEN  THE  PENDULUM  IS  TO  THE  ONE  EXTREME  SIDE  OR  THE  OTHER.
